After buying and returning several different makes of this system, I've found one that actually works.
These may be a little more expensive than most, but they do as they claim. They have a pass through, so you can watch your main TV, while some one can watch the same image on a remote set in another room, with only .5 seconds latency. Great picture quality as well. If there is any loss of quality, it is so minimal that it's not noticeable.
Great product and I'm very pleased with it.

forget the rest, this is the best!
10 minutes post receipt of the HD Sender kit, I have a perfect HD signal 40 meters and 4 rooms away from the original source (Sky HD box). Installation is a doddle. Transmitter to the source, Receiver to the remote location TV. The IR blaster works fine.

I have tried 2 other HD sender kits, which failed dismally. Although more pricey, this kit is the best.

On the topic of price, i purchased the kit directly from the manufacturers from their website...currently £229.99 plus £6 DHL tracked overnight delivery. For another £29.99, you get a HDLive kit which allows for watching the streams on your iPhone or iPad. That too is a doodle to setup. You have to spend and additional £2.99 to purchase the Airplayer App from the Appstore.

Improvement areas that would give this a full 5 stars:

1. The Tx and Rx units are on constantly, consuming power. Maybe there could be a standby mode implemented.
2. The Tx must be on for the loop-through to work, viewing on the source TV. A workaround might be a HDMI splitter, which is additional cost.
3. There are no ways to power up or change Sky box channels when viewing on iPad/iPhone..maybe a workaround to control the IR blaster can be implemented one day.

Having had BT Infinity (fibre optic) broadband installed recently, I also required a means of allowing a BT Sports or Sky Sports programme choice to be viewable (at the same time) in different parts of the house, as BT do not currently support a multiroom option.

Finding a suitable means of being able to achieve a multiroom solution was also critical to my decision to move my services to BT in the first place, so I had spent some considerable time checking out options in technical publications and feedback from Amazon reviews relating to examples by different manufacturers.

Consequently I chose the Provision Wireless HD Sender and it has proved to be an excellent choice, serving my particular purposes very well indeed.

The transmitter and receiver in this system are literally plug and play and it is an absolute doddle moving the receiver to an alternative HDTV when the need arises.

The price is quite expensive, but compares pricewise realistically against the offerings of other manufacturers of similar types of products, many of which are limited to single room or line of sight wireless connections (e.g to video projectors).

However what clinched the deal for me was the manufacturer's reference to the fact that it has been successfully tested in a number of UK standard domestic four bedroom houses.

Feedback from other purchasers reflected these findings, with just very occasional references to dead spots.

Having read the documentation that came with the HD Video Sender prior to my BT installation, I noticed that it stated that other 5GHz devices should not be placed within 3 metres of the units in order to minimize the risk of interference.

I was therefore able to ensure that the BT wireless facilities (which also partly operate on this waveband) were installed at a suitable distance. This is something that others with 5GHz wireless devices may need to bear in mind.

The manual also states that the HD Wireless sender is not optimized for fast-moving games applications due to a slight delay when transmitting to the remote device, which may be of interest to those hoping to use it for this purpose.

When I opened the box there was a note stating that the software in my purchase had been upgraded to allow up to three receivers in total to be used simultaneously, which makes it a highly flexible whole house solution for sharing a device output with the family.

Interestingly on the manufacturer's website there is reference to plans for future software upgrades to allow transmitting to mobile devices.

Overall this is one of the most useful technological purchases that I have made this year and it serves my purposes very well indeed.

Consequently on the basis of my own experiences with this product, I would most definitely rate it as a five star product.

Provision... Strong Signal in a small box!

Send SkyHD from lounge to bedroom and operate the Sky box (in lounge) from the bedroom.

I love the idea, but tried 2 other similar products and they failed. I have thick walls and numerous 'wireless' products creating interference (according to the other manufacturers). This resulted in either no images being received or loads of buffering/juddering - Basically unwatchable telly!

Saw reviews for Provision, stating it had strong signal, HDMI Pass-through (no need for an expensive HDMI splitter box) and some cleverness that optimised performance so decided to give it a go.

1st thing I noticed, small boxes! Was a bit concerned that they wouldn't have the power needed, but the results were AMAZING!

2nd thing I noticed, a selection of power adaptors. One for EU, UK and US (nice touch that!).

3rd thing - It's very easy to set-up! You will need 2 HDMI cables though, one from the Transmitter to the TV in the lounge and another from the receiver to the TV in the bedroom. Other than that, slide the little infra-red transmitter in front of the SkyHD box and the infra-red receiver on or near the TV in the bedroom and you're done!

Final thing - It works!!! Turn it on and it goes through a little start-up routine (displayed on-screen for about 10 seconds) then just provides constant high def TV with no interference or issues - Fantastic!!!

This is the third product of this type I have tried, the two others didn't have the power to effectively get through my Victorian walls.

This one does, the signal seems significantly stronger so if you've almost given up radio linking to another HD TV using other manufacturer's products I highly recommend this Provision device.

It comes well packaged with UK plugs on both mains supplies (like a Blackberry charger it also has European and USA capability), the units can be fitted with the little stands, as in the picture, be laid flat or wall mounted with the included kit. It loops through so there is no need for an extra HMDI splitter. The package doesn't include HDMI cables so you'll need an extra two, one from the HDMI source (Sky, Virgin, Blu-ray etc) to the transmitter and one from the receiver to your HDTV. Something like this would suffice:

HDMI 1.4 High Speed Cable for 3D TV with Ethernet & ARC 1m

I had it up and running in about ten minutes, it really is plug and play.

The unit processes the picture to minimise the data to be more effective over longer distances and/or through walls. This is why there is a slight delay (half a second approx) sending the signal to the second set. I haven't noticed any drop in picture quality.

You will need to make sure Sky+ boxes are set to normal audio output, it cannot handle 5.1.

New purchases or software updates (easy to do with a small software download from the Provision website) will allow for up to 3 receivers.

I have only used the system with Sky and have not tested with a Blu-ray player.

I have just taken delivery of one of these (a sender with a single receiver).

The whole thing was a doddle to setup - if you can cope with plugging a power cable into a box, you'll probably get on ok with these :-)

The picture & sound quality on the destination TV is superb - just as good as on the main TV.

I'm using the kit mainly to send my Sky HD signal from the front room up to the bedroom, which works fantastically.
I also tried plugging my PS3 box into it - that worked really well too (I had to scratch my head for a while, though, thinking something was wrong because the upstairs picture kept cutting in & out. I finally realised that I had the PS3 set to send 1080p picture, but the bedroom TV can only handle 720p. Nothing to do with the sender/receiver at all).
The reason for hooking up the PS3 is so that we can watch Blu-Ray disks upstairs - the PS3 controller works upstairs too, so it's all good!
The only thing I noticed on the PS3 was when I tried playing a game (Uncharted 2, if anyone's interested or not) - there seemed to be a delay between the controller movement and the action reacting on the screen. Not much, but enough to make a difference between 'alive' and 'dead' in a game ;-)

Having said that, I won't really be using it for playing games upstairs.

So, all in all I'm extremely pleased with it.
Now that I have a receiver, I'm going to try it in our further-away bedroom, which has a thick chimney-breast in the way. If that works ok, I'll be buying a second receiver.

I very rarely write reviews but considered this product worthy.

OK so it might be a little more expensive than other products claiming to do the same thing, but do they?
Having read the reviews for all products in this category I reckoned the Provision Wireless HD Sender to be the best.
I am extremely pleased with my choice and have been impressed with this product from the day it arrived.

Upon opening the nicely packaged product to begin setting up, I was pleased to find generous wire lengths included for power leads and the infra-red transmitter/receiver.
Note that you'll need a couple of HDMI cables; one to run from the receiver unit to the remote TV and one to run from the transmitter unit to the main TV. This doesn't detract from the quality of product in the slightest.

The sender and receiver units can be placed horizontally, vertically (on the provided stand mount) or mounted on the wall. The whole system was easy to set up and the main sender/receiver units paired effortlessly.

The LED's on the front of the units flash brightly whilst transmitting/receiving signals so I put both units behind the TV's to hide them completely. This had absolutely no effect on signal or picture quality.
Oh, I also have the transmitter unit placed right next to my wireless broadband router with no effect on broadband or TV signals either.

When you first switch on the receiver unit, a few technical details of the transmission are displayed at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds. Signal strength, signal quality, frequency, bandwidths etc. Not required but quite interesting nonetheless.

My units have two walls and two TV's(!) between them. The spare room in between is used as a bit of a store room with plenty of metal objects in it.

With this in mind signal strength is 60-70% with a high signal quality.
Picture quality is exceptional and I have never experienced any artefacts whatsoever.

The software in both the sender and receiver units can be upgraded simply by plugging them into your computer via the built-in USB sockets and connecting to the vendor's website.
I have not felt the need to do this as everything has worked perfectly well straight out of the box.

Nothing more to add really. I'm sure you will be happy with your choice of product if you purchase the Provision Wireless HD Sender as I have been......
...and in signing off, no I don't work for Provision!

'Mouse' to read sky remote and operate from remote room also works well.
Absolute doddle to set up in seconds.
Will now buy another receiver (would have been cheaper to buy together, but ho hum) to connect another room.

Works perfectly through two walls 17m distance. Easy to set up - just plug in the connections at each end. The only problem I had was to divert the audio fom the speakers to the HDMI lead. This was nothing to do with the sender just that there was no option under playback devices to select HDMI output. I rectified this by updating the driver (on the Intel website) for the onboard graphics of the i3 processor in the pc and the selecting this driver in playback devices (right click on the speaker in the bottom right corner of the screen to open playback devices) and I toggle between the two to send the audio either to the pc speakers or the tv. The sender has a loop though to the monitor but this does not allow use of the monitor unless the transmitter is on so a splitter is a useful addition.

What a wonderful bit of kit. I have read reviews of other systems for other wireless HD streamers all seem to have trouble with weak signals well not this one! It worked before I was ready I happened to take the reciver out of the box first so went into the other room and pluged in the box and cables returned to main room and proceed to set up the transmitter plugged in the Hd sorouce and looped through to main tv (what a good idea to include this in equipment saving extra expense of splitter) plugged in power lead turned on tv to check the loop through was ok and thought what is that noise and realised the tv in the other room was up and running with the same programme as front room tv so if I can set this system up all wrong and it still sets its self up what a great bit of kit it is . The picture is brilliant, sd and hd clear and sharp sound is also very good no loss of signal or interference and this in an old victorian house through two walls and a hallway. The remote works well a slight lag but nothing much and having gone to Provision's web site future developments on the cards . So no problem recomending this piece of equipment.

This product is brilliant, if you have thick walls and ceilings and an older property, this is going to work for you, those who don't it will be even better, if that is possible. I have been searching for 8 years, which is when I found my first and only wireless TV sender unit, which actually works in my house. All the modern versions do not work for me, I have tried and returned them all.

The signal from my old setup was terrible and most of the time was fuzzy and kept going on and off.

This HD Sender gives full 1080p wirelessly on my new Samsung TV and I have the best picture and sound ever and it is all down to this product, which is extremely easy to setup. Yes, you do need to provide your own HDMI cables, but they are cheap enough to purchase and this product is very good value for what you get.

Also I would like to say the seller has given more than great service, the first unit sent out was faulty and this had nothing to do with the seller, they talked me through a few things to make sure that it was setup properly and when found to be faulty, immediately had me return it and had new one on the way very quickly.

It is truly rare these days for the excellent service that was provided and the patience and time that they spent helping me, again I thank them for all their help.

As all other reviews have stated superb piece of kit. I have also used others of lesser quality and this is unbelievably more advanced in terms of picture quality. HDMI cables should be included at this price though. Would highy recommend this product if you watch sky in another room on a regular basis, only thing slightly irritating is when the connection between the two boxes is lost ie you are not using it, the blue power light starts flashing, which when the lights are off is quite bright and you think the police have arrived in your bedroom! You don't often get all good reviews on products but I bought this on the basis of the reviews and am not disappointed.

First a plug for Provision and the vendor Buy24. I had a problem with the kit to begin with and both the seller and Provision helped me until it was sorted. I am really impressed by the service and support that both gave and cannot rate them highly enough. You have to make sure that all the hdmi leads are fully pushed in - in my case the hdmi lead on the receving unit came slightly adrift when I moved it to try out another location and I partially lost the signal. What I could not understand was that the receving TV was showing that it was getting a signal and that the sending unit had stopped transmitting. After much scratching of heads, I reattached all the leads again and the system worked again.
In my case the signal is picked up after going through two very thick (18 inches) external brick walls. Not surprisingly the signal degridation is signficiant but the picture on the receiving TV is still acceptable. This unit is not the cheapest on offer but it works and is well worth the money.

I have been looking for a decent wireless HD sender for quite a while as I would simply like to do away with as many cables as possible in my house. Having read reviews on various offerings, none of them seemed to quite do the job as well as they should. I chanced across this and looking at how well thought of it was, I decided to bite the bullet and buy one. I have to say I am absolutely delighted. The units couldn't be easier to set up and just work perfectly. As far as I am concerned, I get an absolutely perfect HD picture on my receiving set. Video buffs may disagree and point out artifacts if looking very closely. I don't tend to look at each pixel on the screen when watching movies and to me it seems just perfect. The units are slightly on the expensive side but as far as I am concerned they were worth the money. Couldn't be happier with the product and I intended to buy a second receiver as soon as finances allow.

No HDMI cables supplied. Once set up, it gave great pictures and sound with no interference. BIG drawback though is that it has to be powered on for the pass-thru signal to work ie when you want to watch the TV you also have to have the transmittter switched on. This is VERY annoying as the blue wireless indicator constantly flashes. I have put black tape over it to hide it.

This is what i have been waiting for for more than 5 years. I have always hated putting cables through my flat but that was always the only way to get proper picture quality onto my second tv. I have lyrically night over 5 wireless senders over the years and none have them have been perfect (nothing is perfect, but still).

This product is unbelievable... It will work and the hd channels from sky will really show up as hd if you have a decent hd ready tv to receive. The only downside is obviously the price.... But you know what, I think I'm gonna be using this product literally for years. I'm sure that hdmi inputs are here to stay at least for a while so there will be no need for anything else for a long time.

I felt so good ripping off the 25 metre coax cable that I had clipped along the walls two years ago.

One tiny down side is that there is probably a half second deejay in remote commands... Nothing to worry about, but like I said.... Nothing is perfect...

I have one Transmitter streaming my Sky HD box output to two Receivers, both situated about 30 feet away, with no problems whatsoever. This is through two breeze block walls.

I get unmolested, crystal clear 1080i HD with no juddering or stuttering.

Wouldn't recommend this for gaming, because there is a definite small lag when interacting with the Sky box, but if all you're after is sending crystal clear HD wirelessly around the house, this definitely does the job and gets my unqualified recommendation.

Got to give a thumbs up to ProVision as well. I ordered my extra receiver direct from their site and it arrived two days later. However the IR eye was missing from the package.

One quick phone call later and i received my eye the next day. Excellent customer service.

In my set up the receiver in my bedroom is less than 10 metres from the sender downstairs. The signal has to pass through the living room ceiling but no walls. I live in a Victorian semi. The setup works well if the receiver is placed on the bedroom floor. But if I place the receiver on a wooden trunk the signal cuts out. This suggests that I am near the limit and that transmission distances in the product specification are idealised.

Bought for our overhead projector.

Used this instead of running very long cables and works a treat.

Hifi sound from our surround sound system and HD wirelesly from the projector.
Easy!!!!
